Meetings of the General Assembly

The IUTAM General Assembly has the power to decide all questions affecting the Union. Important items to be discussed and/or decided by the General Assembly are:

In principle, the IUTAM General Assembly meets every two years. Once every four years the General Assembly meets during the International Congress on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ICTAM). In between two subsequent ICTAM congresses the General Assembly meets in the country of the IUTAM President.

The last meeting of the IUTAM General Assembly has been held in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, on 12 and 13 August 2006. The Summary record of this meeting can be downloaded here.

The next meetings of the General Assembly and the associated committees will be held during ICTAM-2008 in Adelaide, Australia, from 24-30 August 2008.
