Meetings of the General Assembly The IUTAM General Assembly has the power to decide all questions affecting the Union. Important items to be discussed and/or decided by the General Assembly are: matters concerning Adhering Organizations matters concerning Affiliated Organizations matters concerning IUTAM Working Parties matters concerning ICSU topics of IUTAM Symposia topics of IUTAM Summer Schools election of the Bureau election of the Congress Committee election of Members-at-Large appointment of Symposia Panels alterations of the Statutes In principle, the IUTAM General Assembly meets every two years. Once every four years the General Assembly meets during the International Congress on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ICTAM). In between two subsequent ICTAM congresses the General Assembly meets in the country of the IUTAM President. The last meeting of the IUTAM General Assembly has been held in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, on 12 and 13 August 2006. The Summary record of this meeting can be downloaded here.
