Co-Sponsored Events On occasion, the IUTAM Bureau promotes via (co-)sponsorship particular conferences, special workshops and other scientific meetings in addition to its Symposia, Schools, and Congresses.  The following guidelines hold with respect to co-sponsorship of mechanics events by IUTAM: Applications for co-sponsorship are considered by the IUTAM Bureau once a year at its meeting which normally takes place in the summer period. Applications for co-sponsorship should be submitted to the IUTAM Secretary-General by the beginning of June. An event to be considered for co-sponsoring by IUTAM should meet high scientific standards, whereas those standards should be under control of a sufficiently broad composed international Scientific Committee. Upon acceptance by the IUTAM Bureau, the Bureau should be enabled to appoint a member in the Scientific Committee of the co-sponsored event, representing IUTAM.
